Ferdi Schoeman
Director & Principal Town Planner
Ferdi Schoeman is the founding Director of Smit & Fisher Planning and a registered Professional Town Planner with more than 30 years of experience in town and regional planning. Throughout his career, he has successfully led some of South Africa’s most significant township establishment and land development projects, including large-scale residential communities, mixed-use precincts, commercial developments, shopping centres, affordable housing initiatives and national infrastructure projects. His extensive experience in navigating complex planning legislation and municipal approval processes continues to provide clients with strategic direction and certainty throughout the development process.
Cara Terblanche
Director
Cara Terblanche is a Director of Smit & Fisher Planning with more than 15 years of experience in strategic property development, land use planning and project management. Holding an Honours degree in Architecture and a Master of Town and Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria, she combines design thinking with commercial and regulatory expertise. Cara has successfully managed nationwide permitting programmes for leading telecommunications providers, advised on renewable energy developments, negotiated complex land acquisition projects, and led strategic planning initiatives for private developers, corporate clients and public institutions across South Africa.
